Ashridge Home Care Wins Two Industry Awards – for Respite Care and Dementia Care

Ashridge Home Care celebrated at the Home Care Awards, clinching both the Respite Care Expertise and the Mental Health and Dementia Care Expertise Awards. The event took place last week spotlighting the country’s finest home care companies.

Home care is growing fast in the UK and the Home Care Awards aim to be the annual benchmark of excellence for UK companies and organisations delivering care services.  Ashridge Home Care is a family-owned company based in Amersham, delivering outstanding live-in care to those living in Buckinghamshire and into the Home Counties.  Ashridge was up against tough competition with large national care organisations taking part and won two prestigious categories.

Founded in 2016 by Trudi Scrivener, Ashridge Home Care has quickly established itself as a leader in the home care sector, earning an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in the Caring category. With over 100 dedicated carers, the company is one of the few in the country to offer both, 24/7 live-in care and hourly visiting services tailored to the unique needs of clients, including older people and those living with conditions such as Parkinson’s, Dementia, and for rehabilitation care following a hospital stay.

“We are incredibly proud of these awards, which reflect our absolute commitment to exceptional customer care,” said Trudi Scrivener. “Choosing care can be a daunting experience for families.  Our team is dedicated to guiding them through these challenges, ensuring that people can remain in the comfort of their own homes. These awards inspire us to keep delivering the highest standard of care, ensuring every individual receives the compassion and respect they deserve. The whole team is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support.”

The Home Care Awards are renowned for their rigorous judging process, making Ashridge’s dual victories even more significant. Delivering Respite Care is a vital service that gives the hundreds of unrecognised family carers in the UK a much-needed break to recharge their battery and be able to continue to care for their loved one.

Or, as is often the case, receive the medical care they need themselves, to keep supporting their loved one.  According to Carers UK there are nearly 6 million unpaid carers in the UK.  Ashridge arranges for qualified, professional carers to maintain daily routines in a calm and comforting way so the family carer can take a break safe in the knowledge their loved one is safe.

Respite care is also vital if the carer falls ill, one client commented: “We have had a very positive review with Ashridge Home Care Ltd. We needed urgent live-in care for my mother whilst my father was in hospital. The staff were caring and attentive taking on board all our needs and were able to get someone in place in less than 48 hours.  Our carer was wonderful and did a brilliant job looking after my mother. Whilst this was for a respite care only, I know we will use them again in the future.  Thank you everyone for coming to our rescue!”

Trudi commented: “We have been working hard to deliver the best possible service to those affected by dementia, opening dementia friendly cafes and delivering dementia friends sessions across the county.  I am pleased that all our staff are dementia trained, and many are highly experienced in dealing with this debilitating illness. Collaborating with dementia specialists, Ashridge provides comprehensive support for families navigating dementia care and advocates for understanding within the Home Counties within which we operate. We are delighted to share this recognition with the team.”
