Dementia Action Week Open Day

FREE OPEN AFTERNOON TO SUPPORT DEMENTIA ACTION WEEK
Award winning home care provider, Ashridge Home Care is hosting a free information open afternoon on Thursday 22nd May to offer advice and help if you are affected by dementia. This year’s dementia action week is focusing on the theme of diagnosis – a dementia diagnosis is vital to give people access to the care, treatment and support they desperately need. Ashridge Home Care has been supporting people with dementia in Amersham and the surrounding villages and towns since 2016 and its founder, Trudi Scrivener, is passionate that everyone should be able to stay in their own home, especially people living with dementia.
Where: Ashridge Home Care, 3 Lacemaker Court, London Road, Amersham, HP7 0HS
When: Thursday 22nd May 2025 1pm-5pm
What: Visit Ashridge offices for presentations at 1.30 and 3.30 and the chance to have 121 conversations with our experienced Care Managers.
In March this year Ashridge Home Care was named as winner for Dementia Care Expertise at the national Home Care Awards, a prestigious UK wide industry awards ceremony recognising companies across the UK for their excellent customer service. Amersham based Ashridge Home Care won against many national care providers, testament to its dedication in training its carers to the highest standards and offering outstanding care to those living with dementia and their families.
Ashridge Home Care is an established family run business in Amersham that offers both hourly visiting care as well as live-in home care services. Hourly visiting care can often be a gentle introduction to having support in the home and is a good way to introduce carers to an individual with dementia. Ashridge prides itself on matching experienced, professionally trained carers to families to help them navigate the difficulties dementia can bring.
Founder of Ashridge, Trudi Scrivener passionately believes in supporting people with dementia to stay in their own homes with the right support for as long as possible. With this ethos in mind, she has also set up Memory Cafes in Speen and Beaconsfield, where families living with someone with dementia can go once a month to meet others in a similar situation and enjoy activities and conversation with a cup of tea or coffee.
There will be two talks at 1.30 and 3.30 outlining how home help can support families living with dementia to stay independent within their own homes. And there will also be the opportunity to have private one to one conversations about your situation.
