Care assistant pay and benefits

Working as an hourly carer for Ashridge Home Care means you will receive the following benefits:

  • £13.50 per hour on weekdays and £15.50 on a weekend including double pay on bank holidays
  • A minimum of 1-hour care visits with clients
  • Paid client to client mileage at 0.45p per mile
  • Whilst the majority of our contracts are zero hours we are able to offer guaranteed and contracted hours in some situations available to provide further security once your probationary period has been completed

What does the role of an hourly care assistant involve?

We want you to be enabled to build trusting relationships with your clients and feel that you have the time to care properly. You will provide your clients with companionship, home help, personal care support, accompaniment on outings and assistance with a daily routine. A key part of your role is ensuring you always promote the independence of your client and enable them to live safely in their own homes.

We are offering part-time and full-time opportunities to visit our clients in their own homes throughout South Buckinghamshire, including Amersham, Chesham, Beaconsfield, Aylesbury, High Wycombe and all the surrounding villages/towns. There are no set hours or shifts, however you are looking for people with availability during the evenings and weekends as well as in the day.

What qualifications do you need to be an hourly care assistant?

You do not need to have formal qualifications, as part of your onboarding process, you will complete your Care Certificate.  

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about caring and making a difference to someone’s life.
  • Able to offer our clients companionship and support whilst promoting their independence and wellbeing.
  • A driver, with access to their own car to enable you to travel to clients’ homes
  • Able to work in the UK without the use of sponsorship
