A visiting carer, also known as a companion carer, is a professional carer who provides support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. Unlike live-in carers who reside with the client, visiting carers provide scheduled visits at specified times to deliver care and companionship.
Visiting carers offer a range of services depending on the needs of the individual. This may include assistance with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and medication reminders. They can also provide companionship and emotional support, engage in social activities, accompany clients to appointments or outings and help with light household tasks.
The primary goal of a visiting carer is to ensure the well-being and safety of the individual while promoting their independence and quality of life. They play a vital role in helping clients maintain their routines, remain connected to their communities, and enhance their overall well-being.
For this role, you do not need to be an experienced carer or have formal qualifications. Together, we will guide and support you to develop your skills and confidence in providing high-quality care for clients with a variety of needs, from companionship to complex care.
To be considered for the role, you might have professional experience as a care assistant, care worker, or as a support worker in a residential or domiciliary care setting. Or, perhaps you have personal experience providing support care to a loved one or a friend. If you share our passion for delivering outstanding customer service and quality care, then we’d love to tell more about our home care jobs available at Ashridge Home Care.
