Ashridge Home Care teams up with One Can Trust foodbank to support locals in need.

We’re delighted to announce that we have once again joined forces with The One Can Trust to collect vital food items for struggling families across South Buckinghamshire.

Since 2011, One Can Trust has operated a foodbank based in High Wycombe, serving the town and the wider area of South Buckinghamshire. It’s emergency food aid for people with emergency needs right on our doorstep.

In some areas of Buckinghamshire 1 in 3 children live in poverty. Providing food to those who find themselves in times of crisis brings hope and relieves pressure on other services.

One Can Trust have seen a huge increase in requests for support over the last few months due to the cost of living crisis. In addition to providing food for households who are struggling, they offer advice and support to help families tackle the causes of their financial difficulty.

The foodbank is currently supporting a weekly average of more than 700 local people – double the levels it was seeing nine months ago.

Andy Ford, the chair of One Can Trust, said the organisation has “not seen anything like this in our 10-year history”.

The dire situation has prompted celebrity ambassador Russell Brand, who lives in the Marlow area, to make a video highlighting current levels of poverty and asking his local community to support the food bank.

Founder of Ashridge Home Care, Trudi Scrivener said: “We launched our partnership with the One Can Trust successfully last year and many of our generous clients and carers donated food items to help less fortunate locals. Although we live in a privileged society there are still many within our community that need extra care, especially at this time of year and especially this year.  Which is why we are asking the Ashridge Home Care family to come together and help others this Christmas.”

Ashridge Home Care to support One Can Trust

As of the beginning of December, our care managers will be out and about visiting clients and carers and sharing Christmas cheer and picking up food parcels for the equally caring team at the High Wycombe based One Can Trust.

Everybody needs help sometimes, and that’s okay.

Ashridge Home Care is all about caring.  Caring for its carers so they in turn can care for their clients to the best of their abilities. And this care extends beyond the company, its employees and its clients and extends well within the communities it cares for.

Thank you as ever for your support. Times are very tough for a lot of people and every donation makes a real difference.
