Ashridge Home Care join hundreds for Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk

Ashridge Home Care Memory Walk

A great Saturday morning at Watford Memory walk. Over 600 members walked to support the UK Alzheimer’s Society and a world without dementia.

Thanks to everyone who have joined this year’s Watford Memory Walk and donated to this very important cause. Still time to donate. Let’s make sure no one goes through dementia alone.

Anyone wanting to support Ashridge Home Care can donate here

Memory Walks are important because they give people an opportunity to honour loved ones who are living with dementia or remember those who have passed away from the condition.

The things we do within the community, like Memory Walk, helps all of us. The atmosphere has been fantastic at Cassiobury Park  – people have come together with big smiles on their faces, ready to enjoy the day, while also raising money for Alzheimer’s Society.

There are currently around 900,000 people with dementia in the UK.

This is projected to rise to 1.6 million people by 2040. 209,600 people will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes

In April 2022, the monthly death statistics for England, released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), reported dementia and Alzheimer’s disease as England’s biggest killer.

Dementia research in the UK is currently underfunded, so it’s important to us here at Ashridge Home Care that we help to join the fight against dementia. We hope that any proceeds we make can help to make a difference for people currently living with Alzheimer’s Disease.

We specialise in supporting clients with dementia, be that individuals or couples and offer 24-hour live-in care. Receiving care from own home can provide much needed respite and comfort for family members too. The day-to-day stresses are managed by us so you can focus on spending quality time with your loved one.
