Stay in the Home you Love with 24 hour Live in Home Care
We are passionate about live in care. Our initial assessments and discussions with family mean that we can get the level of care just right. Our carers are chosen for their kind, compassionate nature as well as for their skills and experience. If you’re concerned that you or your loved one has specific needs that we may not have experience of, please give us a call and we can talk through the situation with you.
The care we provide across Berkshire varies from live-in care for individuals living alone or for couples who may require assistance , rehabilitation care to recover after an operation or a fall, to more tailored specialist care for individuals living with a condition such as MS, Stroke, Dementia or Parkinson’s.
Our dedicated carers work across Berkshire, so whether you’re in a bigger town or a small village on the outskirts, we can help you to build a relationship with a carer who lives nearby and will be on call to offer you the day to day assistance you need.
We are true believers that staying within the familiarity of our homes is integral to our wellbeing. We understand that many people have the intention to remain in their homes for as long as possible, and we make this a viable option for many. We go the extra mile to extend our live-in care services to as many people as possible, whatever their needs may be.
It’s important to us here at Ashridge Home Care that we’re integrated in the local community in Berkshire, so that we can help our clients to be. Find out what local businesses have to say about our services.

“Ashridge Home Care have been providing home care for my relative over the past two years. In the past month, they have exceeded my expectations by suggesting increased support to help in a difficult and sensitive situation. The live-in carer they suggested on a trial basis was excellent and provided the necessary care for my relative. A satisfactory solution was reached for all. Ashridge Home Care have the best interest of their clients and I am so pleased that I have used their services.” Review from Sue (Cousin of Client)
Finding a suitable care service for a loved one can be daunting. A family member may need more support than you can provide but feel anxious at the thought of living in a residential care home.
Moving away from the comfort of their home is an upheaval and conditions such as dementia can make it even more difficult. Caring for a parent or relative can be stressful and we understand that it’s even harder if you don’t live near them or you’re juggling work and family commitments.
Choosing the right moment to discuss their care is never easy. We always ensure you and your family are in the driving seat when there are key decisions to be made and we do everything we can to make the situation as stress-free as possible.
A dedicated care manager will oversee all aspects of the care plan and organise everything for you. From the onset, they undertake a full assessment of needs and provide suggestions on the level of support required and any aids or equipment that could be useful. Our in-house specialist nursing and medical advisers are also on hand if there are more complex health needs to consider.
Our live-in care services cover the whole of Berkshire, including Aldermaston, Ascot, Binfield, Bracknell, Bray, Burchett’s Green, Caversham, Chieveley, Colnbrook, Compton, Cookham, Crowthorne, Datchet, Finchampstead, Hungerford, Hurley, Lambourn, Maidenhead, Newbury, Oakley Green, Pangbourne, Reading, Sandhurst, Sindlesham, Slough, Spencers Wood, Sulhamstead, Sunningdale, Sunninghill, Swallowfield, Thatcham, Theale, Twyford, Upper Bucklebury, Wargrave, Wickham, Windsor ,Wokingham, Woodley, Wraysbury and other surrounding areas. Wherever you’re based in the area, we can match you with a carer who lives nearby and can be on call to offer you with the support you need.
As our relatives get older and start to become more frail or find day to day life more challenging, we need to consider the options. We all want the very best for our loved one and live in home care is the premium care at home service. Live in care will provide you with the reassurance that your loved one is cared for day and night. There are care options available like supported accommodation in a retirement village or a residential care home but often being in our own home in familiar surroundings is where we are happiest.
Despite a common misconception that live-in care is much more expensive compared to moving in to a residential care home, in many instances it is an affordable alternative and can even be less expensive when a couple is being cared for at home.
Research conducted in 2021 by the live-in care hub confirms that the cost of live-in care is on a par with many care and nursing home fees, especially in the South East and London, and is broadly equivalent to the price of the top half of care homes in the south of England.
Whether you or your loved one has had a deterioration in health or are awaiting hospital discharge, a short period of live-in care could be for you. Clients who come to Ashridge express uncertainty as to whether live-in care will be the best option for them. Our live-in care trial enables families to try our service and decide if it is the best fit without a long-term commitment.
Trying out live-in care for a short period allows you or your loved one the opportunity to decide whether long term live in care is right for you. This time enables families to make more considered care decisions centred around and in the best interests of the very person needing care.
Finding a carer who you can trust can feel like a difficult task, but we want to make the process as smooth for you as possible. Speaking on behalf of our wider family I take great pleasure in writing to you to express our thoughts regarding the care provided by Betty for our father .
My father is 100 yrs old this week and requires a full care service 24 hours a day , Betty provides this with a smile on her face always and with a professionalism and patience that is a credit to both her and you as the providing company . It is not easy coping with my fathers requirements , which can be onerous at times especially at night but Betty always seems to have the right attitude to any problem and has obviously formed a great understanding of how to handle any situation or challenge she is confronted with .
Betty’s ability to make my father smile has defused many tricky situations , she never gets flustered and always has just the correct word or action at hand to make Dad feel safe and secure and always shows the compassion and empathy necessary for someone in my fathers position . He can sometimes feel vulnerable and less than happy with his “lot” but Betty is always able to make him feel at ease and appears completely unflappable !
We think Betty is a pretty special human being and that we are very lucky to have her looking after our father at this time in his life .
Choosing care is a huge decision and not something that you should take lightly. Some of these conversations can be tricky and it’s our job to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible.
