After stroke care-old lady and carer on a walk

Join us on our Memory Walk

On 17th October 2018, Ashridge Home Care are holding a memory walk to support people and their families affected by Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Join us at 10.30am for a short walk around Old Amersham, followed by tea and cakes and a chance to socialise at our office. The walk will be 2.5k long.

Our office is located along The Broadway in Old Amersham. (St Mary’s Ct, The Broadway, HP7 0UT Amersham, Buckinghamshire). The memory walk will begin at our office, so please meet at the above address for 10.30am. You may want to arrive a little earlier, as you’ll have a chance to meet with other people who are participating and the organisers. It’s a great opportunity to meet people from the local community.

Hannah Powell of Ashridge Home Care organised the Memory Walk, and said on it:

“We wanted to run this event, as we have many clients who are affected by Alzheimer’s, and their family members are affected too. We want to show that Ashridge Home Care have an understanding if what it’s like living with Alzheimer’s and show support for individuals and their Family, friends and all our wonderful Carers supporting them.”

Any proceeds made from the event will go towards The Alzheimer’s Society and the amazing work that they do, so as well as being a fun social activity, the Memory Walk is a chance to help to raise awareness and profits for a good cause.

About Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia in the UK. It can affect memory and other mental abilities and can cause significant stress for individuals and their families.

In the UK, there are currently 850,000 people suffering with Alzheimer’s and this number is due to rise to 1 million by 2025. The Alzheimer’s Society suggest that currently, 1 in 6 people over the age of 80 have dementia.

Dementia research in the UK is currently underfunded, so it’s important to us here at Ashridge Home Care that we help to join the fight against dementia. We hope that any proceeds we make can help to make a difference for people currently living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Join us on our Memory Walk to help raise awareness and funds to aid the research of dementia.
