Getting it Right

Growing older is about doing what you want to do, we are here to help you solve some of the problems that might get in the way of that. We know that live-in care works well for everyone, for couples who wish to remain together in their own homes it is a great way to enable you to stay together, especially if you have different care needs and perhaps you are not coping with caring for each other as you once did. Compared to residential homes, live-in care is more affordable than you think, especially when couples are looked after together. Live-in care also works well for people who love their pets and don’t want to be parted from them, our live-in carer will help take care of pets just the way their owner likes.

We provide a fully managed service and this means we take care of everything. We organise our carers and make sure that you receive continuity, you will have a small team of carers that get to know you and they will stay with you for an agreed period, usually about 4-6 weeks before they take a break. We will then arrange for another carer to take over after that time.

Our carers are carefully selected and trained by us. We will make sure that they are fully vetted including gaining an enhanced DBS certificate for every carer (criminal records check). We set high standards that our carers must meet, we only employ people who have a ‘can do’ approach and who will help our clients achieve the very best from life. We apply the ‘mum test’ to our recruitment process and ask ourselves “would I want this person to look after my mum?”

As a client you will receive a regular visit from our Director or our Head of Care who will make sure that you are entirely happy with the service you receive. Each month we will ask you about your carer to make sure you are absolutely happy. This monitoring alongside the rigorous standards set by the Care Quality Commission mean that our aim is always to do the very best for our clients.

We will provide you with all the help you need. Live-in care is not just about everyday help with washing, dressing, preparing meals and help with medication. It provides housekeeping and companionship too. Our carers are also specially trained in conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke, MS, palliative care and even Motor Neurons Disease.

Most of all, they’re on hand to help clients enjoy some of their favourite things in life. With no rigid rules or timetables, every day can be planned differently, offering a genuine sense of dignity, independence and peace of mind. If you need help accommodating visitors our carers will be happy to help. They’ll also cook for you making sure that you get all the food you like cooked the way you like it. The carer will eat with you if you are happy with a companion at meal times.

Whether you need care for a short period of time or for the foreseeable future our Head of Care will take away the burden of organising care, giving you the peace of mind that you or your loved one is well looked after. We provide an out of hours’ service to you and our carers and a Manager will be on hand to assist with any difficulties.
